Hi, I’m Joel — Managing Director and co-founder of The Brickery. I’ve been a proud Lego nerd for as long as I can remember. Building has always been my happy place — creative, calming, and just plain fun. These days, my son shares the same obsession, which made it feel completely natural (and maybe a little inevitable!) to turn our love for Lego into something bigger.

The idea for The Brickery came from a simple frustration: Lego is amazing, but it’s expensive, bulky to store, and kids always want the next set. So Yasmin and I imagined a space where families could enjoy Lego together — without the cost or the clutter.

​

But it’s not just about kids. I firmly believe adults deserve creative play too. That’s why we run adult-only sessions, hold chilled evening builds, and welcome grown-up fans just as warmly as we do the little ones. Whether you’re here to build your first set or your fiftieth, we’ve got space for you.

​

At the café, I handle the day-to-day, run events and parties, and get to live the dream of building Lego for a living — with a great coffee in hand.

Hi, I’m Yasmin — co-founder and Director of The Brickery. I’ll be honest: I didn’t grow up loving Lego. That all changed when I married Joel in 2023 and was lovingly roped into building set after set. Somewhere along the line, I stopped helping and started asking what we could build next. Now I’m just as hooked as he is!

Together, we created The Brickery as a space for families — and adults — to come together through creative play. We wanted to make Lego more accessible, social, and sustainable. No need to buy every set or cram boxes into your spare room. Just show up, grab a drink, and get building.

​

I focus on customer experience, events and parties, and making sure The Brickery always feels welcoming and fun. I especially love seeing grown-ups rediscover the joy of building — whether they come with kids or just for themselves.
